The theme of the Space Mechanisms Workshop will be focused on Compliant Mechanisms. The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview of recent developments and future needs for the use of complaint mechanisms in the space hardware. Furthermore, the workshop will provide a platform to the community to interactively discuss such topics as:
- Applications and advantages of using compliant mechanisms
- Traditional and Additive manufacturing technologies
- State of the art, innovation opportunities and future R&amp;D
The workshop is also an opportunity for attendees to network with other space mechanisms professionals and to stay informed of the latest compliant mechanism technologies developments.
The ESA Mechanisms Section hosts its annual Space Mechanisms Final Presentation Days to disseminate the results of research and development activities to interested parties from the ESA member states. The 2025 edition will take place immediately following the annual Space Mechanisms Workshop on Compliant Mechanisms. The combined event will take place from April 2 to 4, 2025.

The second RISC-V in Space Workshop, is organized by the European Space Agency and Frontgrade Gaiser in collaboration with RISC-V International. It will take place on 2-3 April 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden, bringing together experts, engineers, and researchers to explore the latest innovations, applications, and challenges of RISC-V architecture in the space sector.

The 2025 course will focus on the Space Optics Instrument Design process. All aspects and fields, important for the development of a successful optical payload will be addressed and its field interaction will be illustrated. This will help young engineers working as an optical-, mechanical-, thermal-, AIT-, PA-engineer or manager to broaden their view and to better understand the interaction of the different areas and the complexity of the optical payload development. The course will be organised into two parallel classes with the same content.
