Illumination Simulation Raytracing

<h3>GENERAL DESCRIPTION</h3>

<p>The illumination or irradiance of test items (optical, infrared, heaters), as is regularly performed in the thermal facilities of the Test Centre, are accurately modelled using a raytracing software called LightTools.</p>
<p>The source radiance and performance can be accurately simulated, and the applicability can be verified for the customer using the test item’s 3D CAD model, e.g. impingement on volumetric features, spill over and stray light phenomena. Validated simulation models exist for the Large Space Simulator and the VTC-1.5 thermal vacuum facilities.</p>
