Technology Programme

ESA technology development activities are performed in partnership with industry and academia. Technologies at the very low readiness levels are developed mainly with research laboratories at academia and research centres, while for technology developments at higher readiness levels ESA relies on industrial partners.

Main responsibilities

Managing the Technology Development Element (TDE) and the General Support Technology Programme (GSTP)

Supporting industrial policies relating to technologies;

Leading the interaction with Member States for all TDE and GSTP activities and related processes;

Providing support to Member States in preparing and implementing National technology R&D programmes and projects via collaborative activities and third party services; communicating, disseminating and archiving results of all R&D activities;
Supporting and organising training on technology matters.
