ESTEC events

Events&Workshops

The theme of the Space Mechanisms Workshop will be focused on Compliant Mechanisms. The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview of recent developments and future needs for the use of complaint mechanisms in the space hardware. Furthermore, the workshop will provide a platform to the community to interactively discuss such topics as:
- Applications and advantages of using compliant mechanisms
- Traditional and Additive manufacturing technologies
- State of the art, innovation opportunities and future R&amp;D
The workshop is also an opportunity for attendees to network with other space mechanisms professionals and to stay informed of the latest compliant mechanism technologies developments.
The ESA Mechanisms Section hosts its annual Space Mechanisms Final Presentation Days to disseminate the results of research and development activities to interested parties from the ESA member states. The 2025 edition will take place immediately following the annual Space Mechanisms Workshop on Compliant Mechanisms. The combined event will take place from April 2 to 4, 2025.

The second RISC-V in Space Workshop, is organized by the European Space Agency and Frontgrade Gaiser in collaboration with RISC-V International. It will take place on 2-3 April 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden, bringing together experts, engineers, and researchers to explore the latest innovations, applications, and challenges of RISC-V architecture in the space sector.

On 3-4 April 2025, ESA is organising an information event for industry dedicated to the upcoming ESA Council at Ministerial Level (CM25) in November.
During this two-day event at ESA/ESTEC (Noordwijk, The Netherlands), Programme Directorates will present current plans and considerations with regard to their CM25 programme proposals and will engage in exchanges with industry.
The objective of the event is to inform industry and seek feedback to consolidate the proposals, support the decisions to be made at CM25 and improve the implementation after CM25.
The event is open to industrial entities (1 representative per company) and industry associations (1 representative each) from ESA Member States, Associate States and Cooperating States. Delegations are also invited to join (1 representative per Member State).
Registration is on a first-come, first served basis. Please note that places are limited.

IVEC 2025 aims at being an international forum of information and technical discussion between the various players in the field of vacuum electronics: designers, researchers, young and experienced engineers, scientists, device users, manufacturers, operators, government/institutions, academics and of course, our valuable students.

The Purpose is to present to Industry the content of the Programme Proposal relevant to industry for the CM25 preparation, and hence the significant industrial opportunities of the exciting and ambitious projects of the European Exploration Envelop Programme.

Human and Robotic Exploration Industry Days 2025

The 2025 course will focus on the Space Optics Instrument Design process. All aspects and fields, important for the development of a successful optical payload will be addressed and its field interaction will be illustrated. This will help young engineers working as an optical-, mechanical-, thermal-, AIT-, PA-engineer or manager to broaden their view and to better understand the interaction of the different areas and the complexity of the optical payload development. The course will be organised into two parallel classes with the same content.
